Job Purpose: Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. Non-exempt position and reports to Controller.
Essential Job Functions:
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and expense reports.
Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
Insure credit is received for outstanding memos; issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Respond to all vendor inquiries.
Assist in month end closing.
Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Assist with other administrative functions as needed.
Requirements:
2 + years of Accounts Payable experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Data entry skills
Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
Detail oriented and well organized
Ability to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
