JOB SUMMARY:
Develop, optimize, and maintain master production schedules that enable the organization to meet shipping goals, satisfy customer requirements, and maintain optimal inventory levels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. sales, production, engineering, and supply chain) to coordinate manufacturing plans and develop complex project schedules. Balance demand and supply in efforts to satisfy customer needs and minimize the impact of demand volatility. Track changes that affect the schedule, identify schedule variances, and apply mitigation strategies. Coordinate future product launches and production schedules in accordance with sales forecasts.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess current project management tools, identify gaps, recommend and implement production management software to manage growth and optimize use of resources.
Experience with ERP systems, specifically Sage 100 / MAS 90
Must have a strong understanding of the production process and be able to generate and maintain effective daily, weekly and monthly schedules.
Analyze available labor, machine capacity, and material availability to optimize production schedules.
Monitor production metrics like cycle times, scrap rates and machine downtime to identify potential bottlenecks and adjust schedules accordingly.
Integrate customer change orders into production schedule and collaborate with impacted departments.
Problem-solving, reporting and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience: 4 + years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or oil & gas industry
Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management.
Related Experience:
Proficiency with manufacturing/planning software and predictive analytics
Familiarity with warehouse or operations management software
High-level Excel skills
Prior experience as a production planner
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Attention to detail Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; keep up in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills
