Job Description
The Project Engineer is tasked with leveraging engineering expertise to design, plan, and execute projects. This role involves preparing budgets for capital and operational expenditures, overseeing contractors or internal teams, and collaborating with maintenance staff to ensure the smooth integration of newly commissioned assets. Beyond project work, the engineer will support additional tasks such as field surveys, updating technical maps, and contributing to daily operational reviews.
Candidates must hold a degree in Mining Project Engineering and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform feasibility analyses for proposed or assigned initiatives, including data gathering, cost and timeline projections, and presenting options with actionable recommendations.
• Draft and submit proposals for expense and capital investments related to facility needs, providing follow-up support and supplementary details to facilitate approval processes.
• Design, develop, and manage engineering project activities from inception to completion.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and financial records, as well as up-to-date technical drawings and operational logs.
• Engage with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to procure equipment and services, offering technical insights and conducting inspections upon delivery (e.g., machinery, ventilation systems, or conveyor components).
• Conduct regular site evaluations to ensure safe working conditions across projects and as directed by leadership, assisting with ventilation assessments and structural integrity testing.
• Coordinate construction efforts among external consultants, contractors, department leads, and operational staff for specific initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering expertise to management, production, and maintenance teams to address daily operational challenges.

Work Environment
Fieldwork will occur in both subsurface and surface industrial settings, where exposure to dust, elevated temperatures, and other operational hazards may occur. Tasks may require working at heights for measurement and monitoring purposes.
