Job Title: Stores Attendant-B
Job Description
As a Stores Attendant, you will assist the Material Services organization by performing duties related to material accountability, operation of the storeroom, and storage yards. This role requires lifting, standing, and the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments within all weather patterns. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
Responsibilities
Issue material under proper authorization process and file required records, including picking up, hauling, and delivering materials, and operating company automotive equipment such as cars and trucks.
Check received material for quantity, make visual inspection for identity, breakage, and condition, and initiate and process material receipt and related records.
Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
Identify, sort, and record material returned, place usable material in stock, and sort non-usable material into scrap containers, recording applicable information and processing related records.
Operate computer terminals and printers supporting a materials management system and other office equipment such as calculators and scanners.
Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage, including preparation of required shipping papers and other related records. This may include shipping and receiving hazardous materials under required safety and environmental procedures.
Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklift trucks, low lift trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, and order pickers.
Assist the supervisor with maintaining efficient storage of materials, rearrangement or change of bins and racks, and making material location changes.
Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels based on current requirements through inventory cycle counts, perform discrepancy adjustments with appropriate approval, and process all associated records.
Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
Perform similar or less skilled work.
Perform duties in accordance with company safety rules, operating regulations, and practice.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of one year of work experience in inventory control and management, material handling, warehousing, or related experience
Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to read and write proficiently
Basic math skills
Ability to operate a forklift proficiently and safely
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
Punctual and reliable attendance
Possession of the appropriate state driver's license
Good communication skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Equipment operation experience preferred (5-25K LB forklifts, reach trucks, or stand-up trucks)
CDL is not required but beneficial
Experience with logistics related to shipping and relocating inventory
Motivated, dependable, team-oriented, respectful, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, and punctual

Work Environment
The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings across various weather conditions. Safety equipment such as steel toe boots and other PPE is required and provided. The dress code includes jeans, long pants, and a T-shirt without inappropriate words or pictures. If wearing eyeglasses, side shields are required. Some local travel may be required, and the use of company vehicles will necessitate a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
