As the Project Manager Facilities, you will oversee the Project Management services to various entities and subsidiaries for CPKC in an assigned region, covering all leased and owned sites. The successful candidate will develop and deliver the overall design of the project, track and update budgets and schedules throughout the project to ensure completion on time and within budgets.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Administer contracts, including safety orientation, field inspection, and supervision of contract work on various projects for the assigned region.
  2. Coordinate work activities with internal departments and contractors to ensure safe, cost-effective execution of projects and programmed maintenance work.
  3. Manage utility infrastructure maintenance to ensure business continuity for the assigned region.
  4. Design and manage utility infrastructure projects daily to ensure completion within schedule and budget.
  5. Address environmental issues according to company policies and local codes related to projects.
  6. Prepare budget requirements for multi-year planning.
  7. Oversee gas, water, and sanitary management projects, determining feasibility and project execution.
  8. Supervise all facilities construction projects from conception to delivery.
  9. Review project schedules, subcontractors, tools, equipment, and materials deliveries in detail.
  10. Monitor work progress daily, manage costs, and oversee site personnel behaviors.
  11. Evaluate contractor performance to maintain quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  12. Prepare and review project cost estimates for facility-related funding.
  13. Negotiate with construction managers, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to maximize benefits.
  14. Ensure adherence to CPKC safety requirements on all sites.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Facilities, or a certified/licensed skilled trade.
  2. Minimum 1+ years experience in project management within fast-paced industries like railway facility management or commercial construction.
  3. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  4. Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, project management processes, financial management, codes, contract law, and legislation related to projects.
  5. Experience in preparing RFPs, tenders, and tender awards.
  6. Ability to travel up to 50% across Mississippi and Louisiana.
  7. On-call responsibilities are essential, including support after hours, weekends, and holidays.
  8. Ability to problem-solve, complete tasks efficiently, and exercise sound engineering judgment.
  9. Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
  10. Effective communication skills across all management levels.
