Bachelors or Associates Degree. Prefer a Bachelor s Degree in Health Information Management (Medical Records) or other Healthcare-related field. Minimum of one year s experience in a hospital setting or other healthcare-related environment. SKILLS: Works in conjunction with the manager of the Physician Peer Review System to coordinate the Peer Review processes. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals at all levels to facilitate the physician peer review process. Reviews and gathers medical record data to support case reviews which are determined by established triggers and/or referrals from staff, providers, or customers (patients/families) and/or department leaders. The Peer Review Specialist will prepare cases in a standard format for formal review by their respective Peer Review Committees.
