Medical Billing Research Clerk
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Status: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: $14.00 - $15.00

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Research Clerk to join our team. This position plays a critical role in verifying patient insurance information to ensure eligibility and coverage for services. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and committed to supporting accurate and timely billing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and confirm patient insurance information to determine eligibility and covered services
• Contact insurance companies, hospitals, and/or patients to obtain benefit and coverage details
• Perform insurance benefit verifications through various online portals and update billing systems accordingly
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding the confidentiality and security of patient health information
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing, coding, and payment issues
• Contribute to a positive team culture that reflects organizational values and promotes performance
• Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment

• Previous experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or a related healthcare administrative role is preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with insurance portals and billing software is a plus
• Understanding of HIPAA guidelines and healthcare privacy requirements
