Scope of Responsibility:

This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and data within the ERP system. The role ensures the efficient movement of inventory through the production flow process by performing and reviewing various tasks and responsibilities within the inventory department. Key duties include overseeing inventory accuracy, coordinating material flow, and supporting seamless production operations through effective inventory management.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct regular cycle counts of all parts and materials to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Review and maintain bin accuracy, ensuring precise counts for both internal and external bins.
  • Track and document heat numbers for all production jobs and orders.
  • Accurately input material and part counts into the Epicor system.
  • Verify all materials and parts returned, including part numbers, counts, and checks for damages.
  • Receive incoming materials and update the ERP system accordingly.
  • Issue and request materials from inventory as needed.
  • Pull and prepare products for production and shipment.
  • Track lot/heat numbers and serial numbers accurately.
  • Promote a safe work environment by maintaining responsibility for quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness in the operational area.
  • Reconcile cycle counts and ensure inventory records are up to date.
  • Close jobs and ensure accurate job entries for production processes.
  • Process job-to-job receipts as part of workflow management.
  • Monitor and communicate inventory-related issues to maintain smooth production flow.
  • Authorize raw material usage and manage inventory accordingly.
  • Manage the return of materials due to change orders.
  • Handle transfer orders efficiently.
  • Process subcontract purchase orders (e.g., galvanizing, cut legs, outsourcing).
  • Review and communicate issues related to damaged materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and task completion.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs
  • Report for work on time and fulfill your shift responsibilities as planned.
  • Complete all responsibilities during your assigned shift as outlined in the schedule.
  • Engage respectfully with coworkers, fostering teamwork and mutual respect.
Position Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Experience: 1 to 3 years of recent inventory control or warehouse experience

Skills & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Effective and efficient English written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and perform with a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required
Physical Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
  • Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
