As Welder II, you will perform a full range of MIG and TIG welding operations on a variety of parts, components, and other miscellaneous items. Reporting directly to the production supervisor, this position is based in Shreveport, LA. Essential job functions include working from routing sheets, blueprints, weld procedures, written and verbal instructions. You will weld seams ensuring strength and neat appearance on certified work. You will interpret drawings; position, fit, block, clamp, and tack parts to obtain proper alignment. You will select proper welding equipment and material prescribed; regulate current, voltage, and pressure for proper fusion of metals. You will exercise care in welding to insure proper technique. You will check welds for adherence to specifications. You will exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and materials. You will detect and report faulty equipment, improper operations, and unusual conditions to supervision. You will observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. You will perform a full range of MIG and TIG welding operations to weld on a variety of parts, components, and other miscellaneous items. You will perform any and all weld jobs in the manufacturing area, including tacking, spot welding, and various aspects of miscellaneous welding.
Job requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of welding experience. You will stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of workday. You will be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch occasionally. You will lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally. You will pass a weld test of various MIG and TIG operations.
