David Raines Community Health Centers is looking for passionate, qualified applicants to join our team!

General Description:

The Intake Specialist acts as the first point of contact for new patients. They are responsible for obtaining essential information, verifydocumentation and assess needs too initiate services.. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8am - 5pm, and Thursday are 9am - 6pm.

Work Experience Requirements: (The minimum qualifications can be with any combination of education and/or experience.)

  • Receives inbound and outbound calls to/from patients regarding clinical care and services and healthcare related needs to include but not limited to scheduling appointments, follow-ups, referrals, transportation, etc.
  • Manage calls/texts received from Answering Service and transfer calls to the appropriate staff regarding clinical care and services.
  • Coordinates inquiries from patients, referral sources, payors, and co-workers to provide timely and accurate responses by coordinating and collaborating with clinic leadership, providers, and provider support staff.
  • Ensures all confidential personal health information and financial information is entered into a computerized system with a high rate of accuracy.
  • Verifies the patient's insurance, explain sliding fees, Medicaid applications, SNAP, and/or other resource options available.
  • Perform PSR duties when coverage is needed.
  • Maintain Daily Report spreadsheets.
  • Comply with all federal and local laws in ensuring safety measures and patient privacy and DRCHC policies and procedures.
  • Processing patient co-payment and deductible payments. Ensuring receipts are consistently completed and reported in a timely manner in accordance with DRCHC policy.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and compassionately.
  • At least three years of patient/customer services experience.
  • At least two years of healthcare experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
  • A current BLS (American Heart Association)
