Overview Clean Harbors in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety conscious team. This role is active in the field and responsible for tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials. Travel, on-call, and emergency response duties apply.Why work for Clean Harbors?Health and Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5Focus on maintaining sustainability and cleaning the EarthComprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment including 401K with Company matchOwn part of the company with our Employee Stock Purchase PlanOpportunities for growth and development for all stages of your careerCompany paid training and tuition reimbursementResponsibilities Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe mannerEngage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objectsOperate light and heavy equipment, handle various hand tools and powered industrial tools, and work with vibration-producing toolsWear and properly use a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection in multiple combinationsWork in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsWork in atmospheres and locations with potential exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosiveWork in potentially elevated noise levels and confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearanceWork at elevations including ladders and scaffoldingAssist in field sampling activities and calibration of metersClimb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and other containersWork extended (> 8 hours) time periodsAttend all compliance and safety update meetingsInspect drums for container integrity and regulatory complianceSafely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous wasteConduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessaryFollow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rulesSafely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirementsSafely observe all corporate operating guidelines and proceduresObserve all company environmental health and safety operating guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedBe on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other weekSite remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materialsQualifications Required Qualifications:Reliable transportationAbility to perform physical functions per Key ResponsibilitiesEmergency response availability; on-call requirement; occasional weekends and holidays; emergency response may extend beyond 8 hours up to 12-24 hoursPerform physical functions per job requirementsSuccessfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by positionPer OSHA Respiratory Protection standard, meet facial hair standards for employees requiring respiratorsPreferred Qualifications:Valid Driver's licensePrevious relevant labor experienceClean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer.
