Position Overview:
The Electrical Maintenance Technician (Automation) performs all functions necessary to maintain and optimize operating and service equipment throughout the facility. This role serves as the first line of defense for automation and electrical issues, providing expert troubleshooting and technical support for production operations.
Working independently and alongside Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technicians, you'll support Hot Rolling Equipment operations with a focus on automation systems, drive systems, PLCs, HMIs, and data acquisition technologies. You'll be expected to quickly identify issues, implement solutions, and communicate technical findings to Production and Maintenance leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
-Optimize production systems during scheduled shifts and off-hours when necessary.
-Serve as the primary responder for automation and electrical issues affecting production.
-Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical, controls, and automation system failures.
-Assist in developing and implementing work procedures, Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
-Participate in down days, outages, equipment upgrades, and special projects.
-Support 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities to identify and eliminate recurring automation issues.
-Communicate equipment issues, system modifications, and corrective actions to Production and Maintenance Managers.
-Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and support organizational safety goals.
-Contribute to a culture of professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence.
-Perform additional duties as assigned
Pay: 30.58/hr - 33.26/hr with 8hrs OT built in to schedule and more OT opportunities available + monthly production bonuses that can be up to 30% monthly compensation
Shift: Rotating 12 hr shift scheduled between days and nights, 4 days on, 5 days off, 4 nights on, 5 nights off Job 59135
