Description
The Front Counter Sales Associate serves as the first point of contact for walk-in and call-in customers, providing excellent service to contractors, builders, and homeowners. Responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection, preparing quotes, entering sales orders, coordinating pickups and deliveries, processing returns and credits, and answering questions regarding product availability, pricing, and applications. This role also focuses on generating sales through cross-selling complementary products while ensuring accurate order entry and documentation.
Additional duties include maintaining product knowledge across building materials such as lumber, roofing, siding, drywall, insulation, concrete, doors, windows, and hardware. The associate monitors inventory levels, coordinates will-call orders, stages materials for pickup, communicates backorder updates, supports inventory counts, and helps maintain accurate stock records.
