We proudly support the automotive, freight forwarding, parts distribution, used vehicle, and fuel industries through operational excellence, advanced technologies, and exceptional customer service.Position SummaryThe Body Shop Buffer is responsible for supporting vehicle refinishing and repair operations by performing vehicle preparation, sanding, buffing, polishing, and light body repair work. This position plays an important role in ensuring vehicles meet factory-quality standards before delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Preparation & RefinishingPrepare vehicles for refinishing through sanding, masking, taping, and detailing.Perform priming and surface preparation activities to support painting operations.Wet sand and buff refinished vehicles to restore factory-quality appearance.Remove imperfections from painted surfaces using appropriate sanding and polishing techniques.Operate high-speed buffers to eliminate sanding marks and achieve a professional finish.Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.Automotive Repair SupportPerform minor body repairs and light dent removal.Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components as needed during repair and refinishing processes.Correct factory defects, scratches, overspray, and other cosmetic imperfections.Assist with repair and restoration of vehicle processing center (VPC) units.Safety, Quality & Team SupportMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Follow all company safety procedures and SDS requirements.Communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, carriers, and vendors.Assist team members as needed to support production goals and quality standards.Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum 1 year of automotive body repair, refinishing, or painting experienceValid state‑issued driver's license with acceptable driving record (MVR)Experience using sanding, buffing, polishing, and automotive body repair toolsAbility to read, write, and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work independently in a fast‑paced environmentGeneral knowledge of automotive components and repair processesStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and holidays when requiredPreferred2+ years of automotive body repair and/or painting experienceExperience driving both automatic and manual transmission vehiclesPrior experience in an automotive manufacturing, dealership, collision repair, or vehicle processing environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reachingRepetitive use of hands for sanding, buffing, polishing, and detailing activitiesAbility to push and pull equipment and materialsAbility to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperaturesExposure to dust, vehicle fumes, paint materials, chemicals, and industrial noiseAbility to drive vehicles safely throughout the facilityReasonable AccommodationsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Working and Environmental ConditionsThis position is located in Shreveport, LouisianaAutomotive manufacturing, warehouse, and vehicle processing center environmentExposure to loud noise from vehicles, equipment, and machineryExposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditionsExposure to paint materials, chemicals, dust, and vehicle exhaust fumesFrequent movement throughout production and repair areasEqual Employment OpportunityGLOVIS America, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
