Performing repair or general maintenance work to keep facilities, buildings, grounds, machines, mechanical equipment in repair.
Duties involve electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.
Work Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years building maintenance experience performing some carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions
Experience and knowledge of operating equipment including a fork lift truck, hand and/or pallet truck, personal lift, safely around people and equipment, a must.
Self-starter with ability to work independently finding solutions to obstacles.
Very organized, can thrive in a busy environment
Knowledge of basic electrical systems
Knowledge of safety rules, hazards and application of accident prevention measures
Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines
Must be comfortable working from ladders and at heights
Ability to work safely
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Technical School certifications and/or training preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
