Genesis is immediately hiring helpers to work with our client in Bossier City, LA. The Sanitation Helpers will be responsible for collecting waste, sorting recyclables, and maintaining public cleanliness around the facility. Duties require physical stamina, as they routinely lift heavy objects. The ideal candidate will have a background in the environmental/waste industry.

Responsibilities

• Facility Sanitation: In institutional settings (like hospitals or food processing plants), use approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces, dispose of biohazardous waste, and maintain hygiene standards
• Waste & Debris Removal: Sweep sidewalks, pick up litter, empty public or commercial trash/recycling bins, and transport waste to designated disposal areas or dumpsters.
• Cleaning & Sanitizing: Sweep, mop, and scrub floors. Disinfect common areas like restrooms, breakrooms, and locker rooms while strictly following established safety regulations.
• Site Maintenance: Assist with yard work (mowing, paper pick up), maintain facility grounds, and wash/clean collection trucks or equipment

Experience:
Six (6) months of prior work experience required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
• Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds frequently.
• Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
• Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel
• Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
• Walking: Able to walk through the shop and other outside elements, must be able to walk down street and dirt paths on route.
