Operating Room Patient Care Attendant - Willis Knighton NorthIn this role, you will provide essential nonâ€'clinical assistance that helps ensure a safe, efficient, and patient-centered operating room environment, and support our perioperative services team. This position is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare, patient safety, and teamwork within a fast-paced surgical setting. Participation in a rotating call schedule is required, and the final shift will be determined upon completion of orientation.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Support* Safely transport patients to and from the operating room and perioperative areas* Assist with patient positioning and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment* Provide comfort and reassurance to patients as directed by clinical staffOperating Room Support* Prepare operating rooms by setting up equipment, furniture, and supplies* Clean and turnover operating rooms between procedures following infection prevention guidelines.* Stock and organize supplies and equipment.* Transport soiled instruments, equipment, and waste according to policy.Safety and Team Collaboration* Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality (HIPAA) standards.* Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).* Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or hazards.* Work closely with nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesia staff, and physicians to support efficient case flow.QualificationsRequired:* High school diploma or equivalent* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions* Commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and teamwork.Preferred:* Prior experience in a hospital, operating room, or patient care environment* Knowledge of safe patient handling and healthcare safety practice
