We recognize you and reward you. We win together as one team.The Planner/Scheduler sits at the center of everything that happens on our plant floor. This role owns the full flow of parts and schedules — sizing the parts we manufacture so we never run short or build excess, managing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as designs evolve (substituting parts, using up existing inventory, and scheduling new parts to seamlessly take over for parts being replaced), evaluating warranty and customer returns through our rework process to determine reuse potential, and scheduling our assembly lines to hit customer-requested ship dates. Our department is one of the most dynamic and fast-moving in the company right now: we are actively modernizing our planning tools, our data, and our processes, and this role is central to that transformation. This position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Shipping to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery performance.Reporting directly to the Team Lead/Master Scheduler, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work and reside in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin or Wyoming. Due to payroll, tax, and employment law requirements, applicants must be located in one of these states at the time of hire.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY Analyze demand, capacity, and material availability to ensure feasible production plansCoordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and componentsCollaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize workflow and reduce bottlenecksSupport continuous improvement initiatives in planning processesSize parts using statistically sound inventory methods to prevent shortages while avoiding excess and obsolete inventoryManage the planning and scheduling impact of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including part substitutions, use-up strategies, and seamless cutover scheduling for replaced partsEvaluate parts returned from the field through warranty and customer returns to determine rework, reuse, or dispositionSchedule assembly lines to align production with customer-requested ship datesChampion and help drive change as the department modernizes its planning tools and processesProvide liaison between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and ShippingKEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory targetsMonitor shop floor progress and adjust schedules to respond to production disruptions or priority changesTrack key metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, inventory levels, and capacity utilizationMaintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systemsManage the ECN process for the department — coordinating part substitutions, using up existing inventory, and scheduling new parts to seamlessly take over for parts being phased outReview parts returned from the field (warranty and customer returns) through the rework process and determine whether they can be reworked or repurposed into other assembliesApply statistical sizing methods (e.g., periodic order-up-to, safety stock) to set min/max and reorder levels that prevent shortages without creating excess inventorySchedule assembly lines to meet customer-requested ship dates, and communicate part and pick requirements clearly to the picking team to ensure on-time delivery to the lineAssist in S&OP or demand planning processesQualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field2–5 years of experience in manufacturing planning or schedulingKnowledge of lean manufacturing principlesFamiliarity with capacity planning and forecastingExperience with ECN processes, MRP/parts planning, or rework and returns evaluation is a plusSkills & Abilities: Experience with ERP/MRP systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong communication skillsExcellent cross-functional communication skills; comfortable working with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, and ShippingEmbraces change and continuous improvement; eager to help modernize department tools and processesInteracts effectively with all levels of management and staffMust be able to stand/walk on a concrete floor or sit for extended periodsKey Competencies: Attention to detailTime managementData analysis and decision makingCross-functional collaborationAdaptabilityComfort operating in a fast-changing, modernizing environmentOUR BENEFITS: Competitive WageHealthcare (Medical, Dental & Vision)401(k) Savings PlanWellness ProgramSupplemental Health PlansEmployee Assistance ProgramTraining and DevelopmentTuition AssistanceHoliday Pay OpportunitiesEmployee DiscountsPaid Time Off (PTO)On-the-Job Training & Skills DevelopmentBasic Life InsuranceLeave ProgramEmployee Events & MoreFrymaster, a Welbilt brand, creates award-winning, innovative, commercial fryers that are taking frying technology to a new level.
